Someone here recommended this band .Who was it ? Anyway thanks !
This "post-rock", avant-garde band is great, if you like out there stuff .
In this show , they, at times reminds me, of the rave ups in some versions of "Viola Lee", 73-74 King Crimson( the violin esp.), and a bit of Ummagumma era Pink Floyd . I, am ignorant of modern art groups, so I can't comment on their relation to other people .
Thanks whoever you were !

I've liked them too (though they're sometimes a bit bombastic for me). The Ummagumma comparison is apt; it's spacy, slow-moving music requiring patience.
I'm trying to remember how I first heard of them; it was probably through Explosions in the Sky, an instrumental-guitar-anthem band who also have lots of shows on the Archive, and are pretty similar.

I don't know that I was the one who recommended them but I am a huge fan. Finally got to see them in an old disused warehouse down by the train tracks in Hudson, NY this year and it was a pretty transcendent experience.
Their albums are well worth getting especially "Lift your skinny fists like antennae to heaven" and "F#A# (infinity)"

Check out Monheim, Gathering Storm and Dead Metheny

Not me either. I found them because I was listening to Mogwai and Explosions. Maybe my favorite Godspeed show is

Some other multi guitar-centric instrumental bands available here are Red Sparrowes (pretty heavy with pedal steel in a totally uncountry style) This is a good sample:
http://archive.org/details/redspar2006-10-11.spcmc2.cavis.flac16 Sadly no longer together.
Caspian (very good in my opinion. Similar to Mogwai, but certainly not copying) This one is a favorite of mine:

and a more recent show:

Gifts from Enola - only 1 show available, but it's a good one. Some off mike vocals but mostly instrumental.

All of these can lead to other great stuff.........
